World Music Day Workshop

This project aims to introduce participants of all ages (or specify your target audience) to the vibrant world of music from various cultures. Through hands-on activities like exploring global instruments, singing world music, or creating body percussion pieces, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for musical diversity. The workshop can be tailored with a specific theme like mastering a world rhythm or composing a global melody. This exciting project promises a fun and enriching musical journey for all!

Themed Workshops:

• Learn a World Rhythm: Focus on a specific rhythm from a particular culture (think Brazilian Samba, African drumming patterns). Teach the class the basic steps and then create a larger piece together.
• Compose a Global Melody: Divide the class into small groups and assign each group a musical style from a different region. Have them create a short melodic phrase and then combine all the phrases into one piece.
• Musical Instruments Around the World: This workshop can be more informational, showcasing different instruments from various cultures and explaining their history and role in music traditions.
