Decentralisation
In the UK, the system of learning a musical instrument or engaging in musical activity has been structured in a classical way with graded examinations and milestones which have become an unspoken prerequisite to being accepted as a ‘serious’ musician. Diversity Music Community 1st aims to break down what is for some a ‘high-brow’ centralised system of access and allow those without classical training to pursue their dreams of a musical engagement or experience the benefits of music for the first time.
Equality of opportunities
Diversity Music Community 1st is an equal opportunities Community Interest Company. We are committed to diversity and inclusion. We prohibit discrimination and harassment of any kind based on race, color, sex, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other protected characteristic.
