At Tell My Story, we believe that everyone has a story worth sharing. As part of our ongoing Tell Your Story project, we recently had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with a selection of older residents from across Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas to hear about their lives, experiences, and the wisdom they’ve gathered along the way.
Our team conducted in-depth interviews, giving participants the space to reflect on their personal journeys, memories, and the events that shaped them. From tales of childhood adventures to reflections on career, family, and community life, each story offered a unique glimpse into the rich tapestry of experiences that make up our city’s history.
What was particularly inspiring was the intergenerational impact of these interviews. By sharing these stories through film, storytelling, and creative media, we hope to bridge the gap between generations, allowing younger people to connect with the past while appreciating the insights and lessons of those who came before them.
The interviews also highlighted the diverse voices within our community. Each story was distinct, reflecting different cultural backgrounds, life paths, and perspectives, yet together they painted a vivid picture of resilience, creativity, and connection.
